Combloux is one of the easiest ski areas to get to as the village is only 8km from the A40 motorway in the valley at Sallanches.

We recommend that you drive to Combloux, or fly to Geneva and hire a car, as public transport in the village is limited, and taxis are limited and expensive. The only regular and frequent service is a free skibus which runs during the day between the village and Combloux’s ski area at La Cry. Having a car will give you the flexibility to explore the local area, ski further afield and enjoy the freedom to sample some of the many excellent restaurants and bars in the evening in neighbouring towns of Sallanches, St Gervais and Megeve. Or leave the car at the apartment, and simply walk into Combloux village where there is a great choice of places to eat and drink.

By car

Combloux is an 8 hour drive from Calais using the almost empty autoroutes. Tolls apply and will cost approximately 70€ each way. Check the AA website for advice and information about winter driving in Europe.

By air

The nearest airport is Geneva, which is served by easyJet, Swiss, and British Airways amongst others. The airport is one hour’s drive from Combloux, depending on traffic. Rush hour can add another 30 minutes to your journey. We recommend that you take the Swiss motorway from the airport into France to avoid the city centre.

If you choose to hire a car and wish to take this motorway, bear in mind that you will need a ‘vignette’ (a sticker enabling you to use the motorway), so check with your hire company that the vehicle has one. You can also get to Combloux by taxi, hired from the rank at the airport but this will be more expensive than booking a transfer in advance (around 300€ one way). Click here for example fares.
